The Good Braider in the Work Place

my story, too

David Vilandre invited me to one of the finest community colleges in Massachusetts, Mount Wachusett in central Massachusetts.  Students in his children’s literature class read The Good Braider and we had one of the most interesIMG_1526ting discussions about the book that I have had.  We talked about the courage of people who make the journey from one culture into another, a journey that many of these students had been on. One student talked about her work in social services and told us a story about cultural differences around parenting that her agency was affected by. One student from a Latin American country told me, this is my story, too. Thank you for telling my story.
